For those of you who haven't been vomited on today. The funny part here is that Quinn throws up on me and I don't notice for 5 minutes until aunt Theresa points it out
While I was waiting for Tina to give them their bath and I batted the block in the air and well... Turn up the volume on this one. https://youtu.be/GvryP6Ndl-g
This was supposed to be a monkey outfit, looks alot like a mouse to Tina and I. Oh, and there are no videos of Penn because he threw a giant fit every time we put on his costume.
Penn and Quinn went in the pool for the very first time today. Not too bad. A little fuss and then they were loving it. Quinn seems to be a bit more of a water dog. Big smiles.
I decided to post this rather uninteresting vid. simply to show that they don't always run around like chickens with their heads cut off. ahhhh sigh... http://vimeo.com/167059982
If Quinn ever gets a job interview for a job in finance this should be his on his resume. Funny how he closes his legs on the money and says "all done".
Our first snow a few days before Thanksgiving 2010. The boys are 20 months old now and starting to string together words. Very funny that Quinn's reaction to snow is "Messy". We'll head out in to the white stuff tomorrow and see what happens.
It's funny sometimes the things that kids get excited about. We moved a couch in to the boys playroom temporarely for Xmas. Here's the reaction. http://vimeo.com/17694170
So I leave them alone for 2 minutes and they open up their PJ drawer start tossing out everything. Stick around for the ending when Q says "Messy Christmas" http://vimeo.com/18233542
Penn gets all excited about opening his present but he's not quite sure what to do with it. They're 22 months now and the whole Christmas thing is kicking in, very cute, looking forward to next year. http://vimeo.com/18233884
Just a few shots taken on the train. Saturday mornings we shop at Whole Foods on Westlake. The streetcar stops right in front, so Quinny says "REAL TRAIN! REAL TRAIN!"
Mom makes smoothie. Boys drink smoothie. Shirt goes in washer. Oh yeah.. note to self, new iPhone camera lens is closer to finger than old iPhone lens.
We go to the Seattle Aquarium a lot. Fishy, Fishy, Fishy! The boys have a new favorite, "Oc-A-Puss!" and today was a special day because Mrs. Octopus was VERY active. Listen real close for Quinn's commentary.
Ok, so I know this video is really long by PennQuinn.com standards. I just felt I needed to put it all out there. Sestadisopra is a small winery we visited on our 2011 Italy trip. Family owned by Mr. Ettora Spina, they produce some fantastic Brunello (95pts WS!) from the South-facing upper hillsides of Montalcino. Mr. Spina was fantastic. We had to make an appointment to visit them and he didn't disappoint. He met us as we drove up his long gravel driveway and welcomed us to "his home." The tasting was awesome, 2006 Rosso Di Montalcino and 2006 Brunello Di Montalcino.…
8 Minutes at a wonderful winery in Tuscany. Giancomo Pacenti is a rock-star. His 2006 Brunello Di Montalcino got a 95pt rating recently in Wine Spectator (the 01' got 97 pts!). We were lucky enough to show up on a day when they were sorting the 2011 harvest.
Great day at swim! They went in the deep end today to do their jumps! They jump in, come up for air, float on their back and swim back mostly independently. (all at once). Fun day at the beach! These boys don't like to get dirty. We were working on getting messy without complaining, it was a little hard for them (mostly Quinn). I carried them through the seaweed. I shouldn't have pointed it out, lol. Rain-boots next time. 🙂 (While driving to swim class) Quinn, "April look at me. Turn around and look at me. Can you go around…
Good day at swim overall... Quinn a little tired. Quinn and Penn quotes on the way to swim.... "Hurry catch up to Mommy. Don't crash her, she's my nice Mommy. I love Mommy, Daddy and April. She's a very nice Mommy, don't crash her. Go slow, ok April?"
Fun day at Lake Union!! We saw "pirate" ships, sea planes and played in the fountain (life jackets and all). 🙂 They did amazing at swimming. They can really swim without life jackets now. Both boys were excited, not a peep about not wanting to go and they asked for Mrs. Jen all morning. Penn even got upset when I passed the WAC to park, lol. -- April
We had great fun today. We sang songs, saw Santa's reindeer, a camel, discovered a train set with sea monsters, played with koi fish and learned about the locks in Ballard.
Day One, the flight and arrival at Disneyworld. We had a 5+ hour direct flight from SEA to Orlando. Everything basically went smoothly except for the EPIC Quinn meltdown during the last 1/2 hr of the flight. Poor kid, he didn't sleep much and it caught up with him. We stayed at the Disney Beach Club Villas. Day Two, rained out at the Animal Kingdom, sort of. Raining really hard when we got up and headed to the Animal Kingdom. Eventually we broke down, bought a few rain ponchos and made the best of it. Penn was a tough guy and…
Quinn said that it was really important that I get a photo of Galaxy Squad this morning and "share it with the internet, before we accidentally wreck it"
Midnight Monday. Quinn wakes up crying. I peek in their room and Penn is up reaching across to his brother and patting him on the head trying to comfort him. Really sweet.
While driving by a Mini: Quinn: I see Daddy! Me: That's not your dad; it's a girl wearing earrings and a ponytail. Does your dad wear earrings and have long hair? Quinn: No...Daddy's just a face and a bottom.
Mrs Luke's kindergarten class at Stevens Elementary Big day for Penn and Quinn, today they not only went to Kindergarten but were also split into two classes for the first time. So far, so good. Quinn looking a bit overwhelmed.
Walking to school today and Penn says, "Daddy is that the place where you sell your house?" (pointing to the Windermere real estate office in our hood.) Me.. "Yes Penn it is" "daddy after a person sells their house do they have to go camping?"
Funny to see them still taking a bath together at nearly 6. Not sure how much longer we get these moments. Hit the "bath" tag to see some of my favs from the past.
Talking with the boys (2nd grade now) about school and the importance of reading. "Quinn, you know is reading a lot." Penn piles on and says "Yeah he's really smart in the classroom" Quinn replies "Yeah but he's not very smart on the playground"
Sleepover last night. Boys get up in the morning and ask what's for breakfast. I said "you just finished cooking school, go cook yourself some food" And they did!
